A 31-year-old Bradenton man was hit and killed by a car, while walking across an intersection along U.S. 301 in Manatee County on Saturday night, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal collision happened at 10:23 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 301 and 15th Street East.
A Bradenton man driving a sedan was traveling southbound in the left lane of U.S. 301, and hit the pedestrian as he crossed the highway intersection.
The unidentified Bradenton man was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said. Traffic investigators are trying to determine whether the man was in the crosswalk at the time of the crash, Trooper Gregory Bueno said in an email Sunday.
A 37-year-old Bradenton man was driving the sedan, and a 37-year-old woman and 15-year-old girl, also from Bradenton, were in passenger seats. None of the three occupants of the car were identified and each had minor injuries, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
