Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:15 p.m., an Indian Scout motorcycle operated by a 73-year-old Brooksville man was traveling northbound on US-301.
At the same time, a Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle, driven by a 56-year-old Dade City woman, was traveling northbound on US-301.
As they approached, the SUV stopped to yield to oncoming traffic to turn into a driveway in the 21000 block of US-301. The motorcyclist failed to slow or stop and collided with the rear of the SUV.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the SUV driver was uninjured during the incident.
The FHP did not release the names of the motorcyclist or the other driver in the collision.
