PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 37-year-old man has died after a crash that happened just before 8 pm on Tuesday.
Investigators say that deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to 72nd Avenue North and Seminole Boulevard to investigate a vehicle vs motorcycle crash at 7:54 pm.
According to deputies, 37-year-old Timothy Sterbens was driving a Ducati motorcycle northbound on Seminole Boulevard, just south of Park Boulevard, at a high rate of speed.
A Mazda 3, driven by 56-year-old Laura Delzer, was exiting the shopping plaza on the east side of Seminole Boulevard and 72nd Avenue North.
Investigators say as Delzer began to cross the northbound lanes of Seminole Boulevard from east to west, she was struck by Sterbens, who crossed the shopping plaza exit.
Sterbens was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
